FARMINGTON Robert "Bob" Joe Nash, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington at the age of 85. He was born on November 29, 1931 in Princeton, Indiana to the late Maurice "Pop" W. Nash and Elsie Bell (Wilkinson) Nash. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Sue (LaRose) Nash in October of 2011.
Bob was a proud Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He was a life time member of the VFW and American Legion. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Odessa, Missouri. He was employed with the Doe Run Company for more than 20 years before his retirement. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Cardinals play baseball and grilling for family barbecues. In his younger days he liked playing cards with his buddies. He had a talent for remembering names and he loved telling stories of the past. His friendly smile and his genuine and endearing manner will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to him.
Survivors include four children, Bridgette (Steve) Van Nostrand of Jacksonville, AR, Brenda (Mike) McKinney of Seligman, MO, Robert J. Nash II of St. Louis and Mendy (Steve) Orr of Farmington; six grandchildren, William (Kristin) Kennedy, Charlie Van Nostrand, Jake (Grace) Van Nostrand, Gayla Hall, Katie Orr and Christopher Orr; six great grandchildren, Alexis, Blake, Andrew, Liam, Luis and Levon; a sister, Mary Lou Goodson of Morgansfield, KY and a brother Charles (Sue) Nash of Princeton, Indiana.
Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at 7 a.m. until the time of the funeral beginning at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials if desired may be made to the charity of donors choice.
