Robert Mcmanus

Robert McManus, 79, of Farmington, passed away January 19, 2016 at his home. He was born November 2, 1936 in Broseley, Missouri to the late Louis McManus and Helen (Stucker) Hillis.

Bob lived in St. Louis and spent many years working and living in Chicago as well. In 1987 he relocated to Farmington and retired in 1990 from International Paper Company as a Customer Service Manager after more than 30 years of service. He married Thelma Celestial in Sikeston in 1993. Bob was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and also enjoyed sightseeing and fishing trips. Bob was always ready to help anyone out and will be remembered for his kindheartedness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Thelma, include a daughter, Mira (Brad) Libla; grandson Declan; sisters, Pat (Ed) Kuntz and Janice Hillis; brother, Michael (Linda) Hillis; numerous nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Joe (Edith) Graham.

There will be a memorial gathering on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 5 8 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Father James Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery.
