Robert Johnson

STE. GENEVIEVE, MO - Robert "Bob" L. Johnson, of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri passed away October 5, 2015 at his residence at the age of 59 years. He was born December 26, 1955 to Robert S. Johnson and the late Kate Johnson. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Bernice Johnson and James and Margaret Sartain. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force after high school. He went on to attend college in Indiana before going to work for Foster Forbes Glass Company where he worked for 25 years as a journeyman machinist. He had a hobby of building and racing dune buggies for many years. Bob was for many years the caregiver to his grandson, Joshua who referred to him as his "seeing eye grandpa". Bob often commented that "for a little boy who couldn't see he sure opened my eyes." In addition to his father, Robert, he is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 35 years, Brenda Gayle (Walker) Johnson; Children, Robert T. (Kim) Johnson of Winter Haven, FL, Kelli Johnson of Marion, IN, Shane (Nancy) Leach of Johnsonville, SC and Nathan Leach of Marion, IN; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild; his siblings, James (Patricia) Johnson of Amboy, IN, Lori Fisher of Hudson, FL, Stephen (Rebecca) Johnson of Wilson, NC and Susan (Gary) Langley of Marion, IN; his step-mother, Betty Johnson; and a host of good friends and extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington, Missouri on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 4 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Military Honors.
