Robert Gene Vogelsang Sr.

FARMINGTON Robert Gene Vogelsang Sr. of Farmington passed away May 4, 2019 at Camelot Nursing Home in Farmington at the age 87. He was born August 12, 1931 in Cape Girardeau to the late Ervin and Emelie (Frank) Vogelsang. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Vogelsang, his grandson, Christopher Vogelsang, five brothers and four sisters. Robert proudly served his country for 24 years as a United States Army National Guard veteran. He retired from Southwestern Bell where he worked as an installer and repairman for 37 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, was past President of the CWA Local Union, and was an active member of the Farmington High School Athletic Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert is survived by his sons, Victor (and wife Donna) Vogelsang of Desloge and Robert "Bob" Gene Vogelsang II of Farmington, four grandchildren, Lucas (and wife Kelsey) Vogelsang, Maggie Vogelsang, Chelsea Vogelsang and Dylan Vogelsang, two great grandchildren, Avery Vogelsang and Florence "Wren" Craine, nieces, nephews and many friends. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 609 East Columbia, Farmington, MO.
