Robert Gene Andres

Robert Gene Andres of Bonne Terre passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013, at the age of 84. He was born on October 25, 1928, at Flora, IL, son of the late Oscar H. and Emma H. (Seelman) Andres. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina (Meness) Andres in 2007, and a brother, Oscar Andres, Jr. Robert lived in Illinois most of his life. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After he returned from military duty, he worked as a machine operator for GAF. Soon after his retirement, he and his wife, Nina went to Farmington to make their home. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time in his garage workshop fixing things and piddling around. Survivors include his good friends and caretakers, Sheila and Ken Harris of Bonne Terre; a niece, Billie Sue and husband, Jim Darr of Yellville, AR; a nephew, Jim Miller and wife, Sue of the state of Texas; a nephew, Tom Andres and wife, Joann of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Margaret Thompson of the state of Colorado; several great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville, IL on Saturday, August 24 at 11 a.m. with Ken Harris officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
