FARMINGTON Robert "Bob" Ray McKinney of Farmington entered his Heavenly home on March 10, 2024, at his home at the age of 89. He was born south of Farmington on November 19, 1934, to the late James Otis McKinney and Nellie Irene (Owens) McKinney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia (Priday) McKinney in 2022; a son, Steven McKinney and brothers, Doug, Dewayne and Don McKinney. Bob graduated from Farmington High School in 1949. Soon thereafter he went into the Army and served his country in the Korean Conflict. Upon his return to the Farmington area, Bob became a pharmacist and worked at Mineral Area Hospital and later Parkland Health Center from where he retired after thirty plus years. An avid Fox Hound enthusiast, Bob enjoyed raising and showing his dogs. He was a long-time member of the Doe Run Masonic Lodge and recently received his 60-year pin. He was also a 50-year member of American Legion in Farmington. Later in his life, Bob became an ordained minister and he ministered at Pendleton Church, Washita Baptist, and Little Bethany Church in Madison County. He was a local sports fan and Cardinal baseball fan. For 16 years he coached American Legion baseball. Bob was an all-around good person who had a helping heart of gold. Survivors include his children, James McKinney (Sandra), Greg McKinney (Hannah) and Lisa Harris (Tim); grandchildren, Jody Hannah, Nathen McKinney (Tiffany), Cole McKinney (Ashley), Chad McKinney (Anndee), Danyelle McClellan (Justin), and Dustin Harris (Caitlin), sixteen great grandchildren and extended family and his church family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday at 7:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Doug Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Pendleton Baptist Church of Doe Run.
