FARMINGTON Robert "Bob" Dale Lacey passed away January 9, 2018 surrounded by his family at Southbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehab at the age of 87. He was born in Flat River on August 4, 1930 to the late Walter J. and Margaret (Lovvorn) Lacey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Sterling and James "Jay" Lacey and four sisters, Theresa Howell, Helen Lacey, Barbara Hampton and Imogene Martin.
Bob grew up near Doe Run on Stono Mountain and graduated from Doe Run High School in 1948. In 1952 he married the love of his life, Alma Ruth (Burch) . They moved to Alaska in 1960 where Bob worked with Railway Express. Eventually they made their way back to Missouri where he began a career with General Motors. In 1992 Bob retired from G M and enjoyed his hobby of bee keeping, gardening and raising chickens. Every March he raised his Martin houses and enjoyed watching them make their homes. He was a faithful member of the Church of God of Knob Lick where he was a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Alma Ruth; four children, Robert "Glenn" Lacey, Kathy Ann Johnson, Julia (Steve) Horton and Nathan Jon (Susie) Lacey; grandchildren, Lacey Pritchett (Mrs. Marc Doll), Joshua Dotson, Beau Johnson, Chris Jenkerson (Christine) and Chase Lacey; step-grandchildren, Robert Horton, Jeremy Horton, Erica Betts, Kurtis Nappier, Cierra Bunk. Also surviving are his sisters, Maude Barnhouse and Shirley Starnes; numerous great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 7 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
