Rita Marie Porter

FARMINGTON Rita Marie Porter formerly of Farmington passed away September 23, 2019 at Georgian Gardens Care Center in Potosi at the age of 77. She was born September 5, 1942, in Weingarten, Missouri to the late Joseph and Julianne (Bieser) Joerger. In addition to her birth parents, she was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Wilbur and Marie Jane (Gabriel) Phelps, her husband, George "Sanford" Porter, and her brothers, Joseph Grien and Frank Phelps. Rita was a member of Three Rivers Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, coloring and mostly spending time with her family. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rita is survived by her son: David (and wife Kristina) Porter, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call on Thursday, September 26 from 12:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Genevieve Baptist Church Cemetery.
