Richard Wayne Mattingly

April 16, 1957 — August 18, 2016

DOE RUN Rick "Daredevil" Mattingly, 59, passed away August 18, 2016 at his residence in Doe Run. He was born on April 16, 1957 at Eureka, MO son of the late Ozell (Gentry) Mattingly Taylor and Joseph M. Mattingly, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Joseph M. Mattingly, Jr and Terry E. Mattingly.

Rick was for many years employed by Beelman Trucking as an over-the-road truck driver, a career he truly enjoyed. His many friends in the trucking industry will remember him by his handle "Daredevil." He was a recently "newborn" farmer and enjoyed anything on which you could go fast and get hurt, but particularly he enjoyed drag racing. His greatest joy however, came from helping others, giving where he could and time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Judy Mattingly of Doe Run, two sons, Terry (& Angela) Mattingly of Herculaneum and Jeffrey (& Jessica) Mattingly of Doe Run, five grandchildren, J.T. Suraud, Jaysen Mattingly, Alyssa Mattingly. Justin Mattingly and Brayden Mattingly as well as numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory at 11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor James Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery at Farmington. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cancer Center of America in Zion, Illinois.
