Richard Thomas Harper

DOE RUN Richard Thomas Harper, of Doe Run passed away at Missouri Baptist Medical Center on March 1, 2018 at the age of 56. He was born September 5, 1961 in Fredericktown, Missouri to the late Arthur Charles Harper and Ruth Ann (Richardson) Harper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Tinsley Rider and a nephew, David Allen Olive.

Richard grew up in St. Francois County and attended Farmington schools. He was currently in this thirtieth year working in quality control for Elpaco Coatings in Wellston, Missouri. An avid outdoorsman, he liked to hunt, fish and work in the yard. Richard loved spending time with his family more than anything. His loved ones will remember him for his kindness and his big hearted nature.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Velma (Olive) Harper; two sons, John (Misty) Harper and Andrew Harper, all of Doe Run; his twin brother, Robert Harper and sisters, Janice Rider, Debbie Miniex, Nancy Waggoner, Charlet Chenoweth, Melinda Perry, Sharon Harper and Cheryl Olive. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call on Monday, March 5 from 10 1 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Rick Wade officiating.
