Richard Lee Mathies

**UPDATED** PARK HILLS Richard Lee Mathies, of Park Hills, entered into eternal rest on December 26, 2023, at NHC in Desloge at the age of 68. He was born on August 18, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Joseph and Helen (Skaggs) Mathies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kurt Mathies. Richard is survived by his brother, Joseph (Jo) Mathies Jr. of French Village, his stepdaughter, Natasha Horton of Fredericktown, along with many friends. Richard proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran. He formerly worked as a deckhand and a security officer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. A committal service with full military honors will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com
