Richard Lee Gallagher

Richard Lee Gallagher passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014, at the age of 71. He was born on December 10, 1942, at Washington, PA, son of the late Osler Dewey Gallagher and Helen (Lowery) Hill. In addition to his parents Richard was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel Rose Gallagher; and two sisters. In 1960 Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Richard moved to the Farmington area in the early 1980's and was employed at the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored. Survivors include his four children, Michael James Gallagher and wife, Jenny, Chris Gallagher and wife, Sarah, Michael Lee Gallagher and Samantha Rice; ten grandchildren; his former wife and companion, Vicky Gallagher; a special sister, Audrey (Roy) Goodin, three other sisters and one brother; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor James King officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington.
