FARMINGTON – Richard Charles Scott Jr. of Farmington, entered eternal rest suddenly on August 19, 2024, at his home at the age of 60. He was born on April 4, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Richard Charles Scott Sr. and Lorana “Kay” (Cox) Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Sue Embry.
Richard is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jerra (Mell) Scott, his stepchildren, Justin (Madison) Mell and Rachelle Mell, his grandchildren, Jax Mell, Leah Mell, Addy Mell, Scarlett Mell, and Noah Mell, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon and Mike Mell, his brothers-in-law, Shawn (Betsy) Mell and Ronald (Christina) Embry, his sister-in-law, Stacy Mell, his nieces, Jacelynn Mell, Lydia Mell, and Lauryn Mell, his cousin, Sarey (Mark) Glaenzer along with many other family members and friends, and his special cat, Taffy.
Richard previously worked as a chef at five-star restaurants. He loved horses, gardening and enjoyed coffee and tea. It was his dream to purchase an RV and travel across the country. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Inurnment to follow at Copenhagen Cemetery.
