FARMINGTON - Richard Allen Hicks passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at the age of 71 years. He was born on August 7, 1940, in St. Louis, son of the late Truman G. and Florence E. (Fiedler) Hicks. "Rich" proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1957 until 1961. After his discharge from the Navy he returned to the area where he worked as an electrician. Just recently he retired from PASCO Corporation in St. Louis. For the past three years Rich had attended New Beginnings Worship Centre and also was a member of Calvary Temple in Fredericktown. He had been an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being in the outdoors. He was happiest spending time with his kids and grandkids. Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Betty (Barker) Hicks, four children, Cheryl (Mrs. Mark) LaChance, Susan Fanning, Cynthia (Mrs. Eric) Constance and Steve Hicks and wife Cindy, three step-children, Tammy (Mrs. Mike) Swain, Melissa (Mrs. Kevin) Petty and Brent Tinnin and wife Kim, a sister, Joan Matkin and special brother-in-law George Matkin and their three daughters, Terri, Julie and Ellen, sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday, February 16th from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 7 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Timothy Morgan and the Reverend Carl Cureton officiating.
