Rev. Hugh Emory Cerutti, 78, of Farmington, passed away, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 28, 1936 at Thayer, Missouri, the son of the late Paul Emilio Cerutti and Grace Elva (Walden) Cerutti. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, John Braden, his sisters, Pauline Hufstedler and Mary Jane Pierce; a brother Bill Cerutti and his son Mark Cerutti. On January 23, 1956, Hugh was married to his wife of 58 years, Mildred Lennice Clements. To this union were born five children, Lennice Marie, Lemora, David, Paula, and Mark. Hugh grew up in Thayer and Kansas City. He was called to preach at age 16 and held revivals as a teenager. He pastored churches in Sugar Creek, Missouri as well as churches in Iowa, to include Ida Grove, Blanchard, Red Oak, and Afton. Lastly, Pastor Cerutti ministered for 38 years at First Assembly of God in Farmington. During his time at Farmington First Assembly Pastor Cerutti also served as Flat River Section Youth Director and later as Flat River Section Presbyter with the Assemblies of God Southern Missouri District. He leaves to morn his passing: his wife Lennice of Farmington, his brother, Zack Cerutti of Thayer; daughters, Lennice Marie Cerutti of Farmington, Lemora, Mrs. James Ramsey, of Augusta Georgia, Paula, Mrs. Jay Asher, of Farmington, one son Chaplain, Major David Cerutti and wife, Edie of Fort Hood Texas, daughter-in-law, Becky, Mrs. Mark Cerutti, of Farmington; grandchildren, Stephanie Cerutti, David Cerutti, Angela Cerutti, Jon Cerutti, Hannah Parker, Leah Asher, Mac Cerutti, Joshua Ramsey, Whitney Ramsey, Travis Folkerts, and Adam Folkerts; two great- grandchildren, Samuel Parker and Kylie Folkerts; and chosen grandchildren Halle and Joseph Harris; nieces, nephews and other extended family. Also surviving are many dear friends from his church family and fellow ministers. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church at 1803 N. Washington in Farmington. Visitation will resume on Thursday, August 21 at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral beginning at 10:30 at the Church under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel.
