Regina Hafley

FARMINGTON - Regina Blanche Hafley of Farmington passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the age of 77. She was born on June 19, 1936, at St. Louis, daughter of the late Connie Goeddel and Irene (Cox) Crawford. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Hafley in 2003, a daughter, Karen Hafley, a son, Jeffrey Hafley, two daughters-in-law, Shirley Hafley and Clarissa Hafley and a granddaughter, Rachel Hafley. "Genie" as many will remember her, graduated from high school in Doe Run in 1954. She was a strong, vibrant and loving woman who gracefully raised nine children. She not only raised her own children but helped to raise others as well. In her spare time, Genie enjoyed fishing, going on car rides in the fall of the year and visiting with friends and family on the telephone. She was the matriarch and backbone of her family who kept everything together. Survivors include her children, Robin Hafley and companion, Dave Macklemore, Richard B. Hafley and wife, Lynn, Kevin Hafley, Keith Hafley, Mark Hafley, Mike Hafley, Reggie Hafley and his companion, Cindy Long, and Teresa Montgomery and husband, D. J.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as one great-great grandson on the way (Landon); brothers, Butch Crawford and wife, Juanita, Curt Crawford and wife, Ann, and Clark Crawford and wife, Annetta; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday morning from 7 a.m. until the service beginning at 10 a.m. with Clark Crawford officiating. Private interment will be at a later date at Pendelton Cemetery in Doe Run. Memorials may be made in Regina's name to the Pendleton Cemetery.
