Rebecca Ann Fahrig Landrum

Rebecca "Becky" Ann Fahrig Landrum of Farmington passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Camelot Nursing Home at the age of 95. She was born on April 11, 1917, at Ramsey, MT, the first girl to be born in that town. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Short) Fahrig. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Stuart Landrum; two sisters, Harriet Emmer and Blossom Cole; a brother, Dick Fahrig; a granddaughter, Rose Klemp, and great-granddaughter, Hana Landrum. "Becky" was a founding member of the Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, an organization she served on from the late 1960's until her death. She was also one of the founders of the Farmington Farmers Market. After a decade on th air she retired in September as one of the hosts of the "Our 2 Sense" radio program on KREI. During her long and productive life she was a Cub Scout leader, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a member of Farmington's Parks Board, long-time member of the Nancy Weber Garden Club, the Monday Club, the One-Nighters Play Group, a Sunday School teacher, and serving countless other civic and social organizations. She was an avid golfer, bridge club member, a talented and accomplished artist as well as an author of a memoir, Americanata. She also supported anything involving children. Her life was a soaring monument to her love of people and her bright shining optimism. Survivors include two sons, Mike Landrum of Blooming Grove, NY, Stuart (Mit) Landrum and wife, Chris of Farmington, one daughter, Rebecca Landrum-Rama and husband, Haunt Rama of Canby, OR; grandchildren, Stuart (Emi) of Seattle, WA and Michael (Andrea) Landrum of Green Bay, WI, Jessica (Daniel) Dietrich of San Francisco, CA, Briana (David) Saunders of St. Louis, and Elizabeth Landrum of Blooming Grove, NY and great-grandchildren Grace, Emily, Kai, Jude and Miya. Also surviving a host of other family members, numerous dear friends and neighbors. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday, December 7 from 4 to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. Services will follow at First Baptist Church of Farmington at 10 a.m. with interment at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the Mineral Area Council on the Arts or Parkland Health Center Foundation.
