Reba Shaner

Reba Ann Rebecca Shaner of Farmington passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 90 years with her son and doctor at her side. She was born March 8, 1918, in Iron County, daughter of the late William H. and Rebecca (Gibson) Jamison. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virgil H. Shaner and her dear son, Robert W. Shaner, a brother, Homer Jamison and three sisters, Lillie Fetters, Norma Hyams, and her identical twin sister, Ruth Bradley. Mrs. Shaner spent most of her adult life living in Farmington. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington. She is survived by her son, Dr. James V. Shaner and wife Carla of Farmington, her daughter-in-law, Louann Shaner of Hilton Head Island, SC, and five grandchildren, Jami Mataya (Jim) of Chicago, IL, Rob Shaner (Thowaiba) of Brooklyn, NY, James Shaner (Michelle) of Kansas City, MO, Jarred Shaner of St. Louis and Rebecca Shaner of Columbia, MO, and a sister-in-law, Wilma Stroot (Don) of St. Charles. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her church family also survive. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington. Burial will be at St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery in Bonne Terre.
