Reba L. Matthews

FARMINGTON Reba L. Matthews of Farmington passed away on December 28, 2020 at Parkland Health Center at the age of 94. She was born on October 21, 1926 in Fredericktown, Missouri to the late Aaron and Rosa (Huggins) Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Matthews, her grandson, Christopher Shane Matthews and her siblings, Henry Vaughn, Troy Vaughn, Stella Ballew, and Dolly Rhodes. Reba is survived by her children, Gary Matthews of Fredericktown and Susan Matthews of Farmington, her grandchildren, Shanna (Joseph Byrum) Matthews, Kristi (Kurt) Roundy, Kerri (Jeremy) Sturm, Tiffany (Timothy) Zehrt and Aaron (Besty) Andrew Matthews, her great grandchildren, Blythe Moore, Braelynn Moore, Landon Byrum, Mason Byrum, Trenton Byrum, Madison Roundy, Dawson Roundy, Taylor Bess, Jonathan Sturm, Jake Zehrt, Michael Zehrt, Miles Matthews and Owen Matthews, her former daughter in law, Barbara Matthews of Farmington, her great grand dogs, Davis, Finn and Oakland, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Reba served as a nurse for over twenty years and previously worked at Madison Medical Center and for Dr. Charles Carleton. She was a former long time member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and was an avid gardener. She was highly creative and loved "crafting" over the years creating magnificent dolls, pillows, and floral arrangements. Reba will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Masks are required if attending the visitation and/or service.
