Raymond Bob Chamberlain, 87, formerly of Knob Lick, passed away on May 6, 2006 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born on June 19, 1918, in Knob Lick, the son of the late Sam and Mary (Adams) Chamberlain. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Slater, Virginia Hamm and Thelma Barnes. Mr. Chamberlain worked as a carpenter in the Farmington and Knob Lick area for many years. When he was younger, he liked to hunt and fish. Raymond was proud of his vegetable garden and enjoyed taking care of his lawn. Mr. Chamberlain proudly served his country in World War II in the U. S. Army. He served in the coast artillery at the Panama Canal. He is survived by a special nephew, Jerry Slater of Doe Run, niece, Debbie Brown of the State of Illinois, and special cousins, Lester and Jess Chamberlain of Doe Run. Numerous other relatives and many close friends also survive. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2006. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. James Lacey officiating. Burial will follow at the Knob Lick Cemetery.
