Raymond DeClue of Farmington passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at the Parkland Health Center at the age of 88. He was born on January 12, 1919, at Ishmael, MO, to the late Willis and Sloma (Midgett) DeClue. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Delmar DeClue.. Mr. DeClue was very proud of serving his country as a World War II veteran and was decorated with two Bronze Stars for the battle of the Northern Solomons and Guadacanal campaigns. He was a member of the American Legion Post #416 and a life member of VFW Post #5896. He enjoyed going to Silver Dollar City where he proudly marched in the Veterans parade. He loved to fish with his sons, Cardinal baseball, gardening and his flowers. Most of all, he enjoyed his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Wanda (Sutton) DeClue, two sons, Dennis DeClue of Columbia, MO, Gary DeClue and wife Susi of Quincy, IL, a daughter, Sandy Brewer and husband Bill, two grandchildren, Cara Brewer, and EJ Brewer and wife Erin, one great grandchild, Justin, all of Maryland Heights, MO, a brother, Arbin DeClue and wife Bernice of Hazelwood, MO. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and especially his friends at Ryans Restaurant. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at the Cozean Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
