Phyllis Jean Ragsdale

FARMINGTON Phyllis Jean Ragsdale of Farmington passed on to her Heavenly Home on December 13, 2020 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 73. She was born at Perkins, Missouri October 13, 1947 to the late Roy William Friedrich, Sr. and Velma Mae (Miller) Friedrich. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda "Mandi" Heiland; her brother, Roy "Butch" William Friedrich, Jr., and her sister, Marilyn "Sue" Sellers. Phyllis was a very Godly woman who loved worshiping at Meadow Heights Church in Farmington. She loved the music there and the church family as well. Most everyone called her "Momma Phyllis". She had a knack for creating fine, intricate and detailed crafts and ornaments using the art of Scherenschnitte, a paper cutting art of designs. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and writing. Religious studies were very much a part of her life and she had done a great deal of bible research. Survivors include her children Michelle Lehew and Miranda (Brian) Stevenson; grandchildren, Mason Lehew, Tyler Stevenson, Brock Heiland, Aiden Heiland, Sean Stevenson and Meagan Stevenson; Scott Harris who was her daughter, Mandis soul mate; and former husband and best friend, James William Ragsdale, Jr. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. A celebration of life gathering will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 19, beginning at 11 a.m. with a service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Jeremiah Dietiker officiating. Interment will be held at a later time at Tillman Cemetery near Advance. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
