Pauline Wampler

June 26, 1931 — September 17, 2023

With great sadness, we announce the death of our beloved mother, Pauline (Redmond) Wampler, at the age of 92. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family in Park Hills, MO, Sunday, September 17, 2023, when God called her home. Tresa Pauline was born to Harry B. Redmond and Alice E. (Alvey) Redmond June 26, 1931, in Farmington, MO. Pauline attended St. Joseph Catholic School. As a devout Catholic, she continued her faith throughout her life with weekly Mass. She had the strenuous life of a farmers daughter in her early years. After various jobs, she settled at U.S. Tool Grinding, where she worked 32 years until her retirement at the age of 67. Also, during that time, from 1973 to 2013, she was a Motor Route Driver for the Daily Journal newspaper delivering thousands of newspapers to thousands of people, usually 7 days a week, making many friends along the way until the age of 82 40 years of service, never missing a day. Polly (Pauline) married Clelly Murrell Wampler on March 10, 1951. They were married 56 years until his death in 2007. This union produced five children: Sharon Lee (Paul Evans) of Paris, MO; Sheila Barron (Larry Barron) of Ste. Genevieve, MO; Wayne Wampler of Park Hills, MO; Janet Platz of Staunton, VA; and Brenda Workman of Silex, MO. Pauline is survived by her five children, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She has been preceded in death by 3 sisters, 5 brothers and 1 granddaughter. With her fiery, never-ending energy, throughout her life, Pauline enjoyed cooking, gardening, preserving what she grew, quilt-making, travel and, above all, family gatherings, celebrations and making sure everyone had enough to eat at her table. Paulines hobbies will continue through the generations with the knowledge she shared generously with family and friends. Moms hands told a powerful story of a hard-working, fierce-loving, faithfully devout Child of God, mother, and grandmother. She was definitely the rock of our family who will be missed dearly each day, even though we all know she is sharing her infectious laugh and love of cooking with the Angels in Heaven. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, 1020 West Main Street, Park Hills, MO with Father Jim French officiating.
