Pauline Virginia Spain of Farmington passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the age of 77 years. She was born on December 13, 1934, at Marquand, MO, daughter of the late William Paul and Virginia (Reagan) Stone. Pauline was born in the Union Light Community and moved with her family as a child to Berkeley where she attended school. After graduation from high school she attended SEMO in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. While working at McDonnell-Douglas Corporation she met her husband, married and became a mother to her four children. She lived in numerous states before finally settling in Farmington. She was an avid gardener, a wonderful cook and was well known for watching birds and wildlife. Pauline is survived by her children, Lon Spain and his wife Marsha Bailey, Daniel F. Spain, Lisa Marie Spain and her husband Robert Finkelstein and Doug Spain and his wife Connie; five grandchildren, Damiana Spain, Rebecca Spain, Connery Spain, Clara Finkelstein and Anna Finkelstein; two sisters, Lois Fix and Eva Meloche and her husband Jim; and a brother, Joe Stone and wife Gale. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 6. Visitation will resume Saturday from 7 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will be at Union Light Cemetery in Marquand.
