Paulette Anne Bishop

FARMINGTON - Paulette Bishop, of Farmington, passed away June 13, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 72. She was born in Purdy, Missouri on September 3, 1942 to the late Paul and Elvera Holtzen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Neil E. Bishop, in 2009. "Lettie" as she was known to most, dedicated her life to the Lord by educating children in His name. She taught at St. Paul Lutheran School for thirty plus years and was a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Womens' Club, the Handbell Choir, Life with Spice Bible Study and LWML. She was also a member of the Farmington Library Board. She will be most remembered for her love of teaching, books and her nurturing ways. Lettie always had a smile and a hug to share. She will be missed by those who loved her, including her children, Dr. Katherine Bishop of Murphysboro, Illinois and David L. Bishop of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Lorraine Muller of Middlebury, VT; a brother, Dennis Holtzen of Portland, OR; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 17 from 5 - 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. with Pastor James King officiating.
