Paul Sylvan Wells of Ste. Genevieve County passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, at the age of 60. He was born on September 9, 1952, at St. Louis, MO, son of the late Sylvan Earl and Mildred Eleanor (Van Horn) Wells. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Wells Bowen. Paul grew up in Ste. Genevieve County on the family's homestead where he still lived at the time of his passing. He graduated from Farmington High School in 1970. He was employed his entire adult life with the Farmington Livestock Auction where he was the manager for many of those years. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed puttering around the farm and fixing things. He was also an animal lover as well as an avid reader of western novels. Survivors include his wife, Paula Wells; two children, Miranda Calder and husband, Donald, and Stephen Paul Wells; a brother, William Wells; three sisters, Sylvia Williams, Lucy Crites and Sharon Strickland; two step-children, Tori Bracken and Matthew Klaybor; seven step-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and many good friends. Friends may call on Thursday, April 11 at Cozean Memorial Chapel and Crematory from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will be at Little Vine Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
