Paul Alan Goodman

FARMINGTON - Paul "Nig" Goodman, of Farmington, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at the age of 84. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 28, 1931 to the late Paul Alexander and Helen (Rosentreter) Goodman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Alice (Weiss) Goodman in February of 2015. Paul and his parents moved to Farmington when he was 5 years old. He graduated 8th grade from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1945 and he was a 1949 graduate of Farmington High School. In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country as an aviation mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1955 and returned to the Farmington area where he met and married Alice Weiss in 1963. They began their lives together living on their farm on Possum Hollow Road. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator in St. Louis and was also greens keeper at the St. Francois County Country Club until 1993. He was a 50 year member of Operating Engineers Local 513. In his spare time Paul enjoyed trail riding and golfing and he also liked small engine work and welding. Survivors include his daughters, Ann Goodman, of Caledonia, Sue (Brad) Gillam of Bismarck, and Jane (Larry) Epstein of Farmington; four grandchildren, Paul Tyler "Ty" Gillam, Clay Gillam, Tyler Epstein and Alaina "Lainey" Sanders; and many good friends and Copenhagen neighbors. Friends and family may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 4 - 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the funeral at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Dale Berck officiating.
