Patricia Gavlik

Patricia Gavlik of Farmington passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the age of 85. She was born December 19, 1929 to the late John Eugene and Pearl May (Chapman) Clavin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her late husband, Ed Gavlik in 2001; and five siblings. Pat, as most knew her, grew up in Illinois and the St. Louis area. Early in her adult life she worked as a research librarian at Monsanto in St. Louis. In 1974 she moved to Farmington where she was a full time housewife and mother. A faithful Catholic, Pat was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington and later a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Weingarten. Her world was her family who she loved dearly. Survivors include her beloved son, Ed (Kim) Gavlik; grandchildren, Justin (Cathy) Holmes, Jeremy (Melissa) Holmes, Ashley (Kenny) Horton, Ashley Mason, Hannah Mason and Sawyer Mason; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita Marie (Ed) Agans; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning beginning at 7 until 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Weingarten with Father Frank Koeninger as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Serenity Hospice.
