FARMINGTON - Paca Vincent Kinkead, 92, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in Farmington. Known as Vincent to friends and family, he was born on the family farm at Libertyville, MO on October 20, 1921. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Gault Wood on August 14, 1960. He was a graduate of Farmington High School, Flat River Junior College, and the University of Missouri College of Agriculture. Medically ineligible for service in World War II, Vincent was a lifelong farmer with an agriculture career spanning over 70 years. In 1981 Vincent was one of 100 farmers recognized by the University of Missouri College of Agriculture to celebrate their 100th year. Vincent was a member of Farmington Masonic Lodge No. 132 and St. Francois No. 234, and Elvins lonic #154. He held positions of leadership in numerous Masonic organizations; including Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Missouri; Grand High Priest of Royal Arch Masons; member of the Board of Commissioners of The Masonic Service Association of North America for 18 years, serving as chairman for six years; and 33rd degree Sottish Rite Mason. Vincent was active in the administration of Memorial United Methodist Church, serving as a trustee for 31 years. He laughingly said he held the most positions in the church except president of United Methodist Women. He was a longtime member of the board for the MCII Sheltered Workshop in Farmington. He was an avid student of history with a particular interest in books about leaders in the Federal Government. He was president of the St. Francois County Historical Society and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gladden N. and Frances D. Ashburn Kinkead; his only sibling, Robert N. Kinkead; and daughter Sandra Hahn. Vincent was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his wife Evelyn; daughter Maude E. Kelly and husband Jim of Farmington; son-in-law, Bob Hahn of Bolivar; sons Bill Wood and wife Rebecca of St. Louis, David Kinkead and wife Bonnie of Williamsburg, IA and Nick Kinkead and wife Robyn of Omaha, NE.; brother-in-law Ron Gault and wife Barbara of Farmington; sister-in-law Anita Coppedge of Austin, TX. Surviving grandchildren include; Sarah and husband Kevin Wheeler, Kate Kelly, Laura and husband James Ethington, Jeremy Harvey, Fallon, Nicholas and Kara Kinkead, Faith Adele and Caroline Kinkead. Visitation will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church in Farmington on Sunday, April 6th from 4-8 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday, April 7th at Memorial United Methodist Church from 9-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the church at 10 a.m. with Reverend Scott Hall officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel.
