Olina Laverne Forsythe

FARMINGTON- Olina Laverne Forsythe of Farmington passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Arbors at Maplebrook in Farmington at the age of 84 years. She was born at Doe Run daughter of the late Eugene and Ida Viola (Baker) Williams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Forsythe, two brothers and four sisters.

Laverne was a member of the Farmington First Assembly of God Church and was a retired bookkeeper having worked many years for the Gifford Lumber Company and the Trimfoot Shoe Company.

She is survived by her three children, Steven C. Forsythe of Farmington, Karen L. Forsythe Lindwedel (& Rick) of Pevely, and Linda C. Forsythe of Barnhart, seven grandchildren; Tera Pyeatt of Farmington, Kirk Pyeatt of Colorado, Daniel Forsythe of Farmington, Katherine (& Will) Deer of Arizona, Stephanie Forsythe of Farmington, Nathaniel (& Alyssa) Forsythe of Arnold, and Morgan Forsythe of Barnhart, seven great-grandchildren with one on the way, two brothers, Melvin (& Mary) Williams of Festus and Robert Williams of California, two step-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends also survive.

Friends may call on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will resume on Saturday at the Farmington First Assembly of God Church followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. with the Reverends Kevin Davis and Joe Kochis officiating. Interment will follow in the Doe Run Memorial Cemetery at Doe Run. Memorials may be made to American Alzheimer's Association.
