Norman 'Wayne' Province

FARMINGTON - Norman "Wayne" Province of Farmington, passed away on January 11, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Town and Country at the age of 73. He was born on January 21, 1947, in St. Louis to the late Norman and Edyth (Meek) Province. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert "Bob" Province and Patsy Moreno and his brother in law, Bill Chapman. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jeannie (Young) Province, his sons, Patrick (Linda) Province of Park Hills, Chad (Candice Moore) Province of De Soto, and Jason Province of Doe Run, six grandchildren, A.J. Puleo, Ashley Puleo, Brian (Amy) Mayberry, Conner (Kaylee) Province, Tyson Province and Chelsea Province, three great grandchildren, Mila Mayberry, Baylor Puleo, and Jaxson Province, his sister, Ruth Ann Chapman of Barnhart, his sister in law, Ruth Ann Renick of Pevely, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Wayne worked as a barber for over 50 years, He also worked as a teacher at the Farmington Correctional Center for 18 years. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he formerly served as the youth director and on the Board of Elders. Wayne loved sports especially baseball and basketball and enjoyed coaching his grand kids teams. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday at 7:00am until 9:30am in the Cozean Chapel. Funeral service Friday at 10:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Constien officiating. Masks are required if attending the visitation and/or service and please adhere to social distancing guidelines.
