Norman Pete Edgar of Farmington passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007, at St. Francois Manor, at the age of 73 years. He was born on April 7, 1934, at Steelville, MO, the son of the late Cortez and Pearl (Counts) Edgar. He was also preceded in death by a brother Raymond Edgar Mr. Edgar was a member of the Farmington Unity Christ Center. He was retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the VFW Post 5896, the American Legion Post 416 of Farmington, and the DAV Post 12. Pete enjoyed traveling with his wife Vera in their RV. They were known to their friends as the roadrunners. He is survived by his wife, Vera (Dodson) Edgar, two step-sons, John Sloan and Ron Sloan (Paula), both of Farmington, a step-daughter, Barbara Wykoff of Virginia Beach VA, seven grandchildren, a brother, Fred Edgar and wife Hilda of Farmington, three sisters, Betty Smith, of Collinsville, IL, and Margaret Pullen, Cathy Hammers, and husband Steve, and sister-in-law, Marie Edgar, all of Farmington. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 10 to 12 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2007. A VFW and American Legion service will be held at 11:30 a.m. with a funeral service following at 12 noon. Interment with military honors will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Springfield, MO. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Unity Christ Center of Farmington.
