DOE RUN Norman Barnhouse, passed away August 18, 2017 in Doe Run at the age of 76. He was born in Doe Run to Virginia (Crawford) Barnhouse and the late Esta Barnhouse.
A life long resident of Doe Run, Norman was a member of the Construction Union of St. Louis and Pendleton Masonic Lodge 551. He operated heavy equipment from the age of sixteen and worked in the construction field most of his adult life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and often passed the time away sitting in his swing watching the traffic go by and waving at the people. Normans family will remember how much he enjoyed spending time with and tormenting his kids and grandkids.
In addition to his mother, Virginia, Norman is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maude (Lacey) Barnhouse; children, David (Marcia) Barnhouse, Marcie (Ricky) Elder, Anthony (Maureen) Propst, Pam (Rick) Hayes; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Steve Barnhouse, Larry Barnhouse, Jerry (Darlene) Barnhouse, Jim (Sam) Barnhouse, Gary (Mary) Barnhouse, Dale (Patty) Barnhouse, Dorotha (Ed) Turner and Marie Shepard; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at Pendleton United Baptist Church in Doe Run on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Doug Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Weiss Cemetery near Doe Run. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Pendleton United Baptist Church in Normans name.
