PARK HILLS - Norma R. Crawford of Park Hills passed away June 29, 2015 at Country Meadows Nursing Facility at the age of 82. She was born February 13, 1933 in Flat River to the late Berthel Edgar and Vinnie Alice (Dawson) Hovis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Crawford and a sister, Glenda Miller. Norma was an athlete at Esther High School where she played volleyball and was the catcher on the Pepsi Cola fast pitch girls' softball team. After graduation from Esther she moved to St. Louis where she worked for Carter Carburetor for thirty years. She retired to Wappapello Lake where she and her husband lived for fifteen years. While there she enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing. In 2008, shortly after her husband passed, she moved back to Park Hills to be near family. Her family will remember Norma for her kind and generous heart and her ability to be honest to a fault. Survivors include her children, Deborah (Bill) Huntebrinker, Jerry (Renee) Crawford and Terry Crawford; a step-son, Dennis Ray Crawford; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Lillie Ann) Hovis and Ronald (Rita) Hovis; sister, Jo-Ann Scott and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 - 7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Farmington Pet Adoption Center or to Country Meadows Nursing Center.
