Norma Faye Brown

January 22, 1929 — July 6, 2023

HERCULANEUM - Norma "Faye" Brown, of Herculaneum and formerly of Farmington, passed away July 6, 2023, at Scenic Nursing and Rehab Facility at the age of 94. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas on January 22, 1929, to the late Clarence Raymond Reddick and Alice Bell (Williams) Reddick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Brown; a daughter, Norma Jean Sisk, a daughter, Jill Brown; a granddaughter, Jennifer Bone; a grandson, Steven Sisk; her son-in-law, Steve Sisk and four siblings. Faye grew up in the community of Poplar, Arkansas in Northeast Arkansas where she was raised on a farm and went to the rural Alexander school. She married George Brown before World War II. While George went to serve in the military during the war she stayed in Arkansas where she began raising their family. After the war, they relocated to the St. Louis area. She kept very busy with a family of five children but found time to take on odd jobs. After the youngest child was in school, she went to work for Prince Gardner, and she retired after 24 years of service stitching wallets and billfolds. Faye loved to sing and in fact sang with her husband in a quartette and with the choir at Westside General Baptist Church. She was a crafter and enjoyed taking her creations to crafts shows, mostly selling pillows and quilts. As many mothers did years ago, she made many, many dresses for her daughters as they were growing up. Survivors include her children, Judy Eddings, Janice (Lyndon) Ruediger, Joan (Steve) Tiepelman, "Stone Hands" Brown, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister, Ida Mae Underwood and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. There will be a visitation on Friday, July 14, 2023 beginning at 9 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Garry McCartney officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Childrens Home of Paragould, Arkansas, or the Alzheimers Association.
