Naomi Wilhelmina Skinner

February 28, 1920 — November 9, 2016

FARMINGTON Naomi Wilhelmina Skinner of Farmington passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Parkland Health Center South in Farmington at the age of 96 years. She was born in St. Francois County on February 28, 1920 daughter of the late William Adam and Doretta Elizabeth (Revoir) Schaefer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd S. Skinner, a brother Herman Schaefer and a half-sister Marie Schaefer.

Naomi was baptized into the Christian Faith at an early age and was confirmed in that faith on March 25, 1934 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington. She was a life-long and faithful member of the church where served as the past president of the Woman's Club, Ladies Aide, and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She also organized and started the Funeral Bereavement Dinner program at the church, was an active member of the Altar Guild, and cooked in the school cafeteria for several years. She will also be remembered for working at Rozier's Department store in downtown Farmington for nearly thirty years and the Cozean Funeral Home for nearly twenty years. She was a member of the Farmington VFW Ladies Axillary and enjoyed playing Bunco and Pinochle with her lady friends. One of her more recent enjoyments came from "boating" at the lake with her family and truly her greatest enjoyment indeed came from spending time with her family. They were the apple of her eye.

She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, including her three daughters Cheryl (& Rusty) Waibel, Sandra (& David) Hoehn, and Nancy Wilkinson all of Farmington, four grandchildren, Stephanie (& Steve) Effrein, Kelly Miller (& fiance Mark Culver), Mandi (& Aaron) Jones and Emily Holdman of Farmington all of Farmington, and eight great-grandchildren, Riley and Olivia Miller, Easton Cook, Bryson Holdman, Addison Effrein, and Hailey, Chase, and Payton Daniel. She is also survived by two special brothers-in-law, Dudley (& Mary) Skinner and Lloyd Lamb as well as numerous other relatives, dear friends, and neighbors.

Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday with Pastor Merlen Wegner and Pastor Rick Foss officiating.
