Miczi Antoinette Nickens of Farmington passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Parkland Health Center, at the age of 58 years. She was born on April 29, 1953, in St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late George D. Lapusan and Patty Ruth (Robins) Varity. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark and Greg Lapusan. Miczi grew up in St. Louis where she attended school. She was a stay-at-home mom raising her five children in the Farmington area. After her children were older she went on to Mineral Area College where she received her certification as a CNA and worked in various nursing homes in the area. She will be most remembered for her giving heart and her contagious smile. She loved her children and grandchildren and spent many hours with them. She was a faithful member of the Farmington First Assembly of God where she took part in many church activities. Miczi is survived by her children, Joseph John Lapusan and wife Carolina of Cape Girardeau, John Joseph Lapusan and wife Jennifer of Camdenton, David Anthony Lapusan and wife Brooke of Desloge, Jorge Eduardo "Eddie" Garza, Jr. and wife Sarah of Leadwood and Angela Maria (Mrs. Jeremy) Kozik of Pevely; twelve grandchildren; a sister, Vilma "Vi" (Mrs. Harold) Finnern of Florissant; two brothers, Michael Lapusan and wife "Cookie" of St. Louis and John Lapusan of the State of Arizona; sister-in-law, Mary Lapusan of St. Louis. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and many friends and God-children. Family and friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Monday at Farmington First Assembly of God with the Reverend Kevin Davis officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
