Melba Hahn

Melba Gertrude Hahn of Farmington passed away on November 24, 2006, at Southbrook Nursing Facility at the age of 88 years. She was born on September 17, 1918, in St. Francois County, the daughter of the late Otto and Hattie (Mills) Ratley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hahn, a grandson, Craig Combs, six brothers, Alvin Ratley, Robert Ratley, Luther Ratley, Billy Ratley, Harold Ratley and Otto Ratley, a sister, Jean Noce and a son-in-law, Lee Roy Nichols. Her family loved her devotedly and will miss her with all their hearts. That includes two sons, Kenny D. (Connie) Hahn of St. Charles, and Marvin O. (Karen) Hahn of Farmington, two daughters, Janet R. Nichols of Farmington and Susan L. Waggoner (Russ) of Cape Girardeau, three sisters, Lola Ratley of Desloge, Delores AuBuchon of Desloge and Wanda Markland of Tulsa, OK, ten grandchildren, Michelle (John) Daniel, Greg (Robin) Nichols, Chris (Leslie) Nichols, Kendra Hahn (Jake) Fritz, Cary Combs, Monica Clark, Brian (Shannon) Hahn, Nancy Hahn (Chris) Owen, Vicky Hahn, and Cynthia Hahn (Allen) Tichacek, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family would like to express a special thank you to Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center Staff and Safe Harbor Hospice. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2006. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday with a funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Marlar officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to donors choice.
