FARMINGTON - Maude C. Asher of Farmington, passed away October 17, 2015 at Ozark Manor Care Center in Fredericktown at the age of 103. She was born June 16, 1912 in Perry County, Missouri to the late Henry Eugas and Mary (Johnson) Edmond. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Lewis Glen Asher in 1977; three sisters and one brother; one granddaughter, Myranda Starkey. Maude will be remembered as "mom" to countless individuals due to the many years that she served the Presbyterian Home for Children in Farmington. She and her husband enjoyed working and enriching the lives of those at the childrens' home for 36 years. She worked at various other jobs throughout her life, but being a homemaker and raising her children was her most important role. She was a faithful member of the Farmington Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the ladies circle. She enjoyed traveling to various destinations during her life and cherished the memories from those trips. She enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles. An accomplished cook, she enjoyed cooking for her family, canning and preserving foods. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and spoiling them was her mission. Survivors include her children, Jean Herbst, Don (Jan) Asher and Larry (Debbie) Asher; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Also surviving are a host of special nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends and family may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 21 from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Farmington Presbyterian Church followed by interment at Parkview Cemetery.
