Mary Marjorie States

Mary "Marjorie" States, 88 of Walker, W. Va. passed away peacefully August 22, 2015 at the Community Manor Nursing Home in Farmington, Missouri while she was living near her family. She was born May 15, 1927 at the home of her parents in Walker, W.VA. She was a daughter of the late George E and Myrtle "Buckner" Freed. Marjorie was a member of the Vaught Chapel UM Church in Leachtown. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and neighbor. Surviving Marjorie are her daughter, Linda (Bob) Peine, grandson, Kristopher Lehew (Candi Weedman), granddaughter Jaclyn (Mike) Curtis all of Farmington,MO and a step granddaughter Kelly of Indiana, two great grandchildren, Mason Lehew and Riley Curtis also of Farmington and two step grandsons Robby and Nick of Indiana, one sister Mrs. Evelyn Stutler of Edon, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Denzel States in January 2011, a son Sgt. William "Bill" States killed in Vietnam in April 1969, one sister Louise Lowers and three brothers Ronald, Everett, and her twin, Rev. Wm Marvin Freed. The funeral will be 11:00 am Saturday at the Vaught Chapel United Methodist Church with pastors Jim Eakle and Jamie Sprague officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 on Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Local arrangements were entrusted to Cozean Memorial Chapel.
