Mary K Woodney

LIBERTYVILLE Mary K. Woodney, of Libertyville passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis on April 17, 2019 at the age of 74. She was born in Shrewsbury on July 18, 1944 to the late Daniel Eschenbrenner and Pearl (Fox) Eschenbrenner. Mary was raised in Webster Groves where she attended school. She went on to graduate from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. In 1968 she married Niles Woodney at the Webster Groves United Methodist Church. Mary taught grade school students in the St. Louis County school district for several years. She and Niles raised their family in Kirkwood where Mary worked for many years at the Kirkwood Public Library. In 1999 the Woodneys relocated to Libertyville where they built a new home. An avid bird watcher, Mary enjoyed being a member of the Audubon Society. She also was active in Habitat for Humanity of Farmington and the Mineral Area, United Methodist Women, was a Parkland Health Care volunteer and was a member of the Libertyville United Methodist Church. She liked gardening and had flower gardens as well as vegetable gardens. Mary had a loving and generous heart and was a nurturing person who was always helping and caring for others. Survivors include her loving husband, Niles; two daughters, Laura Woodney and Nancy (Kurt) Kissinger; a granddaughter, Karen Kissinger; a brother, James (Paula) Eschenbrenner; a sister, Holly (Steve) Haase; her aunt Marie Pomfrey; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Libertyville United Methodist Church, 7776 Old Highway DD, Farmington, MO on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Sherie Wymore officiating. Inurnment will follow at Libertyville Methodist Church.
