Mary Ellen Scoggin

Mary Ellen Scoggin, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Francois Manor. She was born September 21, 1971 in Farmington to the late James V. Scoggin and Leona G. Scoggin, who survives. In addition to her father, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her brother, William Bruitt Scoggin. Mary Ellen, even though handicapped her entire life, was a very happy go lucky girl who could light up a room with her smile. She enjoyed collecting dolls and stuffed toys and also liked her real puppy dogs. Some of her proudest times were winning ribbons and awards from the Special Olympics where she competed in volleyball and running. She liked singing gospel songs and was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. Surviving is her beloved mother, Leona, of Farmington; an uncle, Charlie Scoggin of Ironton and several cousins. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 3 from 12 Noon until 1 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Tim Smith officiating.
