Mary Camille "Sugar Bear" Manning of Farmington passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 55. She was born on June 5, 1955, at Mount Clemmons, MI, the daughter of Shirley B. (Rosener) Franklin and the late Homer S. Franklin. Also preceding her in death was her grandmother, Berniece Rosener. On October 26, 1973 she married the love of her life, Frederick Manning, who survives. A former resident of Fredericktown, she had moved to Farmington one year ago where she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also an active member of Mine Au Breton Historical Society. Participating in historical re-enactments was a favorite pastime of Mary's. Her Native American heritage was always of great interest to her and she enjoyed sharing it with others. In her spare time she enjoyed singing and playing guitar, making jewelry and gift baskets for friends and relatives. In addition to her husband and mother, Mary is survived by three children, Frederick J. Manning and his wife Jennifer of Irondale, Rebecca (Mrs. Tim) Dane, and Theresa (Mrs. Daniel) Bird, all of Fredericktown; five grandchildren, Seth Dane, Kyle Dane, Elizabeth Dane, Laura Dane and Olivia Manning; three brothers, Denny Franklin and his wife Carma of Farmington; Tom Franklin and his wife Robbin of Bismarck; Joe Franklin and his wife Cherilyn of Farmington; two sisters, Carrie (Mrs. Shawn) Bennett of Arcadia and Sherrie (Mrs. John) Hagarty of Park Hills; two brothers-in-law, Jacob Krebsbach and Brother Joseph Manning, O.F.M. and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 7 until 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington with Father James Dyer officiating. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Park Hills. Memorials may be made to the Mine Au Breton Historical Society or the Diabetes Association.
