FARMINGTON - Martha Emily O'Bannon of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2022, at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 95. She was born on April 9, 1926, in Farmington to the late Parkhurst Bainbridge O'Bannon and Clara (Thomas) O'Bannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Vera Maxine O'Bannon and her fiance', Carl Hahn. Martha is survived by numerous cousins and friends. Martha retired after working for many years as a secretary for Southwestern Bell which is now AT & T. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time at the family farm where she gardened alongside her sister, Vera. Martha and Vera loved animals, especially cats and dogs and donated their time and effort to protect them. Martha was operatic with an amazing soprano voice and showcased her talent by accompanying Vera who played the organ. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to give special thanks to Jackie Allen, Dianne Dickerson and Mary Reed, all friends of Martha and her sister, Vera, and all stepped in to assist Martha after the death of Vera. Mary brightened Martha's room at Presbyterian Manor with fresh flowers from her farm. Dianne has been Martha's constant companion for the last nine years. Dianne is an angel of love! The family also thanks the tender care Martha received from the staff of Presbyterian Manor and from Heart and Soul Hospice. We also thank Cozean Memorial Chapel for their kind and caring assistance. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center, P.O. Box 45, Farmington, MO 63640.
