FARMINGTON Martha Arleene Marler, age 92, formerly of Farmington, passed away peacefully April 12, 2018 in Lakeway, Texas. She was born September 2, 1925 in Farmington.She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Marler, Sr., parents Alvin and Adeline Korber, two sisters, Wilma Ervin and Elizabeth Smith and three brothers, Alvin Jr., Bill, and Karl Korber.
Arlene worked at Farmington State Hospital for 35 years before retiring. She will be remembered as a very caring person with beautiful blue compassionate eyes. She truly enjoyed caring for others as well as her family and always put everyone else before herself.
She lived in Farmington for most of her life but in 2013 she moved to Peoria, AZ to live with her daughter and son in law. She loved her family, crossword puzzles, crocheting, socializing, and in the evenings listening to Gary play guitar and sing, but most of all enjoyed doing something that would help someone else. Her favorite saying was "I just go with the flow and I would talk to a fence post if it would talk back".
Most recently she had moved with Joan and Gary to Austin Texas to help care for a new great granddaughter that she absolutely loved holding in her arms.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Collins and husband Gary of Austin, TX and son, Harold "Harry" Marler and wife Karen of Farmington, MO, three grandchildren, Chad Marler and wife Jen of Farmington, MO, Raegie Carpenter and husband John of Hobart, OK and Kristina Collins and husband Matt Napoli of Austin, TX, three great grandchildren, Whitney Marler, Brady Carpenter, and Maya Collins Napoli, many nieces, nephews and a very special friend of 56 years, Eileen Huitt of Bonne Terre, MO.
Friends may call on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 11am until time of service at 1pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Interment Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
