Marshall Lee Conrad passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013, at the age of 90. He was born September 18, 1922, at Cooter, MO, son of the late Elmer and Evelyn (Jarboe) Conrad. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Virginia (Rhodes) Conrad in 2001; two brothers, C. L. Conrad and Wilford "Bill" Conrad; a sister, Lorraine Jordan; a son-in-law, John Kohring and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ann Conrad. Marshall grew up in the boot heel of Missouri where he graduated from high school in 1941 at Kewanee. Soon after his marriage to the love of his life, Ruth, he was drafted into the military. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked as a core maker at various foundries and then went on to work at McDonnel-Douglas where he retired in 1986. Soon after retirement he and Ruth moved to Table Rock Lake where they enjoyed life on the lake and fishing. In addition to gardening, Marshall also took up baking in his retirement--which was a surprise to his family. Survivors include his children, Robert "Bob" Conrad and wife, Beverly, Carl Eugene Conrad and wife, Kathy, Charles Dale Conrad, Peggy Ann Dobbs and Sandra Kaye Kohring; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Connie Choc, Helen Doyle and Juanita Trieschman. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 7 from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow in the Cozean Chapel at 11 a.m. with burial at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington.
