Marion Woodrow "Woody" Huff of Farmington passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 25 days. He was born on April 13, 1920, at Doe Run, son of the late George William and Birdie May (Matkin) Huff. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Barnes) Cartee Huff in 1995; a brother, Tom Huff; a son, John "Sonny" Cartee and daughter, Virginia Cartee Carr. Woody, as everyone called him, grew up in Doe Run where he graduated from high school in 1938. In 1943 Woody went into the U. S. Navy and proudly served his country on a mine sweeper in the South Pacific. After his discharge from the Navy he returned to Doe Run where he operated the family farm. In later years he was employed as a carpenter for Gammon Construction and also Busenbark Construction. On January 17, 1964, he married Edna Cartee and instantly had a family of six. He and Edna enjoyed farming and traveling for many years. After selling their farm they moved to Farmington in 1993. After his retirement, Woody enjoyed attending the Doe Run Assembly of God Church and being an active member of the Gideons for more than 25 years. He also enjoyed fishing and going out to a good restaurant. His family was very important to him and he always had time for them. Survivors include his children, Norma (Mac) Cartee Becker and Bonnie (Dallas) Cartee Brown; a brother, Jim Huff and wife Barb; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 57 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and a host of good friends including his special friend and fishing buddy, Pauline Wigger. The family would also like to extend special thanks to his devoted care givers, John Cartee and Dennis Renna. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 7 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel with Brother Mark Moss officiating.
