Marilyn "Rita" Marieta Shelton

COFFMAN - Marilyn Marieta "Rita" Shelton, age 76 of Coffman, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was born to the late Lois "Hulsey" Robinson and Leeman Robinson on April 26, 1940. She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Leda Stanfill and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Shelton.

She married Glenn Allen Shelton, Sr. on July 19, 1956. They started a family in 1960 and raised 3 children in a loving home. She was well known for her kind smile and immense creativity. She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a beautician, artist, master gardener and most importantly a wonderful human being. She loved her beautiful gardens that her husband helped her create. She spent many hours pruning, planting and enjoying their creation.

Rita is survived by her husband Glenn Shelton, Sr.; sons, Glenn and Steven Shelton of Coffman, MO; daughter Glynda and her husband Jason Patterson of Okawville, IL; Grandson, Tim McGee and wife Amanda McGee United States Air Force; Amie McGee Mascoutah, IL, Charles Bauman III St. Louis, MO, Nicole Shelton Coffman, MO; Casey Shelton Coffman, MO, Great grandchildren Gabriella, Samantha, Kian, Skylar and Aubrie and Brother Robbie Robinson Sikeston, MO, along with 3 Nieces - Lynn, Christy and Stacey, 4 Nephews Lee, Larry, Kenny and Scott; and numerous other relatives and close friends.

Friends and relatives may call at Cozean Funeral Home in Farmington, on Saturday, December 10 from 9 10 a.m. with a memorial service at 10 a.m. with Father Rickey Valleroy officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimers Association or cancer research. Please join the family after the service at St. Josephs Parish in Farmington, MO.
