FARMINGTON Marie Mae Clark of rural Farmington passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at her home at the age of 90 years. She was born on May 31, 1926 in St. Francois County, daughter of the late Luther William and Lissie Winfred (Hurst) Cook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Glenwood Clark, infant daughter Bonnie Jean Clark, seven brothers and sisters: Delpha Cook, Alva Bloom, Melba Jones, Beulah Sullivan, Jesse Cook, James Cook, and Dale Cook; two son-in-laws, Jimmy Gray and Dennis Parker, and one great-great grandson, D.J. Johnson.
Marie was known far and wide for babysitting and mentoring many children over the years. She was a proud homemaker and a good neighbor and a long-time member of the Farmington First Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family while working on her embroidery and quilts.
She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her four daughters, Donna (& John) King of Rockfield, Kentucky, Marcella Parker of Bunker, Loretta (& Mickey) Gray of Farmington and Debra (& Nathan) Bradley of Farmington, 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren; a brother Ronald (& Mary Ann) Cook of Festus, a sister Norma (& Frank) Pigg of Fredericktown, sister-in-laws Frieda Cook of Farmington, and Mamie Dorlac of Festus, a brother-in-law Donald Clark of Park Hills, and numerous other relatives, dear friends, and neighbors.
Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday beginning at 7 a.m. until the service in the Cozean Chapel at 10 a.m. with Brother David Parmley officiating. Interment will be in the Knob Lick Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Camp Hope or Preferred Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
