Maria Luisa Luther

Maria Luisa Luther, of Farmington, passed away March 17, 2015 at Parkland Hospital. She was born on October 4, 1939 at Iloilo City in the Philippines to the late Enrique Gayoso and Carmen (Paspe) Gayoso. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Luther in 1993; a son, Timothy Edward Earnst and three brothers and one sister. Maria will be most remembered for her kindness and generosity. She was a great cook and enjoyed making many scrumptious dinners for her friends and family. Throughout her life she went out of her way to help others in need. For seventeen years Maria took on the challenging task of being a foster parent to mentally and physically handicapped children. Survivors include her children, Enrique Edward Earnst, of Potosi, and John (Agnes) Earnst, of Farmington, Betty (Rick) Alvers and Charlene (Zane) Goehmann; five grandchildren, Ashley, Sara, Damion, Kev'n and K'ra; three great grandchildren, Sawyer, Gracie and Nathan and a host of extended family. Friends may call on Friday evening, March 20 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Father Rickey Valleroy as Celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
